Oulton Park ‘25

Team Perry’s Motorsport headed to Oulton Park this past weekend with four drivers across two Caterham championships, and what a weekend it was! 310R drivers, Charlie Lower and Gareth Lucas, kicked things off on Thursday in mixed conditions. By Friday, Rob Lowe and Django Jones joined the action, with both their cars needing some quick attention from the mechanics before hitting the track. Django wasted no time setting the tone, bringing out a red flag on his very first lap — not the start we wanted, but the one we knew we would have.

Saturday was all-out racing, with every session packed into a single, hectic day. In qualifying, Charlie Lower stormed to P1 in 310R, while Django Jones secured P3 in 270R, setting both drivers up perfectly for the races ahead. Rob Lowe, getting to grips with his brand-new 310R, focused on building confidence and was genuinely thrilled with the progress he made across the sessions. Gareth Lucas also worked hard to find pace after a mixed start to the weekend, showing resilience and steady improvement.

Race one saw Charlie convert pole position into a fantastic P1 finish, taking his first 310R championship victory, while Django climbed from P3 to a brilliant P2, bagging his first 270R trophy. Rob put in a solid performance, growing in confidence with every lap of the 310R, and Gareth kept his cool in the midfield, delivering consistent laps and valuable points.

Race two kept the momentum going: Django came home in P5 to keep the points tally moving, while Rob continued to show encouraging pace against more experienced rivals. Charlie had a light incident that unfortunately ended his race early with a bust radiator. Gareth once again brought the car home reliably after a hard-fought mid-pack battle.

Race three brought even more drama as Django battled his way from P5 to another P2 trophy, a fantastic achievement that underlined his pace all weekend. Unfortunately, the 310R race was red-flagged after a nasty incident on the opening lap. Our thoughts go out to everyone involved, and we hope for a speedy recovery.

Off the track, the team’s personalities shone just as brightly as their driving. Rob Lowe seems to be in the middle of a midlife crisis, growing his hair out to relive his younger days — to be fair, it suits him, though the team still can’t decide whether his flowing locks or Charlie Lower’s moustache is the more questionable. Jenson now officially needs an extra bag just for his hair products and while Jas kept morale sky-high all weekend and produced more data analysis than half the paddock combined.

Finally, true to form, Django closed out the weekend by losing all his clothes and wandering the paddock half-naked — becoming something of a tradition…

Despite the challenges, Team Perry’s Motorsport walked away with multiple podiums, plenty of silverware, and a weekend full of memories both on and off the track. From Charlie Lower’s first 310R win to Django’s double P2 in 270R, and all the laughs in between, Oulton Park proved once again that this team is about more than just racing — it’s about camaraderie, grit, and having fun.
